All of us at the CCP are very much hoping that May will be a big month for the Community Hall. We’ve applied for more than £200,000 of UK Government funding to make it more energy efficient and even more attractive as a wedding venue.
The money will hopefully come from the Community Ownership Fund, which was set up specifically to support community groups. We’ve requested £194,000 for a host of improvements inside and outside, including repairs to the windows, improved insulation and lighting, redecoration and an upgrade to the toilets. We’ve also asked for a further £34,500 to pay for the architects, plumbers, electricians etc we’ll need to make it all happen.
One way or the other, we’ll hear back from the UK Government before the end of this month. Fingers firmly crossed!
